After months of continuous rumours and speculation, Anthony Martial eventually got a loan move away from Manchester United, till the end of the campaign. Ahead of the January transfer window, it was no secret that he was looking for a move away from Old Trafford after struggling for playing time this season, under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Martial did not appear to be the first-team plans at Manchester United this season. As such, a loan move to Sevilla does make a lot of sense for the Frenchman as well as the Red Devils.

He will remain at Sevilla, who are challenging for the La Liga title, till the end of the season. The Spanish club are believed to have agreed to pay all of Martial’s wages till then.

Sevilla confirmed the move on Twitter recently:

Martial has hinted at potential permanent Manchester United exit

As reported by ESPN, speaking about his move to Sevilla, Martial said:

"“I have joined for five months but you never know what the future holds.”"

The 26-year-old has already completed his move and the general feeling around Spain is that he might play a key role in Sevilla’s team as they put up a La Liga challenge.

As things stand, Martial is set to return to Manchester United when his current loan deal with Sevilla runs out at the end of the season. But things can change very quickly in football.

Sevilla are currently second in the La Liga points table and are only four points adrift of league leaders, Real Madrid.

Due to the lack of playing time this season, Martial will surely be looking to kick start his career in a Sevilla jersey as soon as possible. And if he shines for the Spanish side, things could get very interesting when it comes to Martial’s future in the upcoming summer transfer window. Let’s wait and see.
