Considering the amount of rumours that were surrounding Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window, there is very little that has happened at Old Trafford this month. There have been a few loan exits but overall, in terms of both incomings and outgoings, it has been mostly uneventful on the part of the Red Devils. Of course, there is still a little over a week to go though and things can change very quickly in football.

There are number of players at Manchester United, who are believed to be looking for moves away from the club in the near future. Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, Eric Bailly and Dean Henderson are some of the names that come to mind immediately in that regard.

And it looks like something could still happen in terms of outgoings as Ralf Rangnick has admitted that there are some negotiations with clubs.

As reported by ESPN, Rangnick said about the current situation at Manchester United:

"“I don’t know [what’s going to happen], I know which players would want to leave.“I know that there are some negotiations with clubs but I am not involved in that but I will probably be posted and made aware if something is happening. We will all have to wait and see what happens.”"

Despite having one of the best squads in the Premier League, Manchester United have not performed to the best of their abilities this season and currently find themselves in the middle of a race for the top four along with quite a few other clubs.

It will be interesting to see how things unfold in that regard. While still in the FA Cup and the Champions League, one has to feel that their primary target right now must be to finish in the Premier League top four.

After that, they are expected to bring in a long-term manager while Rangnick takes on a consultancy role at Old Trafford. As a result, the squad is expected to undergo a bit of a transformation sooner or later, and January might be a good time to start, especially when it comes to players who are not featuring much.
