With every day passing, the January transfer window is getting closer to its conclusion and surprisingly, till now, there has been very little movement around Manchester United. There have been a few loan exits but not much else. On the other hand, Newcastle United are a club who have made a splash as was expected but The Magpies continue to be linked with one player after another.
Ralf Rangnick could definitely do with the addition of another midfielder to Manchester United’s ranks. But when it comes to potential transfer targets, it is hard to bring someone in in the January transfer window. As a result, the Red Devils may have to wait for the summer transfer window to make their move.
Unlike Manchester United, Newcastle United have already completed some notable transfer deals this winter. And recent rumours suggest that there might be more to come before the transfer window slams shut, as the club aim to avoid relegation.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are trying to make a move happen for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma.
Newcastle want to sign Manchester United-linked Bissouma
Manchester United have been linked with the 25-year-old midfielder for a long time. On the other hand, the likes of Aston Villa and Liverpool are also believed to hold an interest in the Mali international.
Although Bissouma’s current deal with Brighton & Hove Albion is set to run out in the summer of 2023, The Seagulls clearly are not ready to part ways with the midfielder unless the right offer comes in.
Since joining the English club from Lille in 2018, he has been a standout performer for them. It is believed that Brighton & Hove Albion are looking for a transfer fee in the region of £50 million for Bissouma.
Manchester United definitely need to sign a midfielder soon but at the moment, it looks like they will wait until the summer before making a move.
