Things are looking up for Manchester United after a long time. In fact, this was almost a perfect weekend of football for the Red Devils with most around them dropping points. As a result, they will finish this matchweek sitting in the top four for the first time in a while. And although there is still a long way to go in the Premier League, at least it should be a boost for the players and the fans alike.

Manchester United have certainly looked stronger at the back since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as manager and it is going forward that they need to improve, which is surprising to say the least.

A big reason behind their recent defensive improvement might be the fact that the likes of Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles are playing much more frequently, and making a difference.

Recently, rumours had emerged that Barcelona had their eyes on Telles. But now, it looks like Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico is another left-back that the La Liga giants have in their sights.

Ajax could hand Manchester United a massive boost

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Tagliafico is pushing to join Barcelona and he hopes that Ajax will let him go on loan.

While Ajax want a permanent move, Barcelona are only believed to be thinking of a loan move at this point of time.

If Ajax does end up letting Tagliafico join Barcelona, then it would be a boost for Manchester United at the same time as it would mean that Xavi’s side would not make a move for Telles.

Tagliafico was one of Ajax’s standout players during their run to the Champions League semi-finals a few years back and had even been linked with Manchester United at one point. But this season, the Argentine international has struggled to get playing time for the Dutch side.
