Manchester United managed to keep the core of their squad together in the summer while bringing in superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho at the same time. While viewed as a huge positive in the beginning, it has since become cause for some worry for the Red Devils as well as a number of players have struggled for regular first-team minutes at Old Trafford this season.

As a result, future transfer windows can be marked by a number of exits. And one player who appears to be looking to leave is Dean Henderson.

It is believed that Henderson had asked Ralf Rangnick if he could leave the club this month although the German coach appears to have made it clear that he would want the English goalkeeper to stay at Manchester United at least till the end of the season.

And now, as reported by the Mirror, Henderson is ready to stay at Manchester United and continue to compete for the first-team gloves.

Last season, Henderson had moved ahead of David de Gea, who had endured a few underwhelming campaigns, in the pecking order at Manchester United in the second half of the season.

As a result, many believed that Henderson was set to become the first-choice goalkeeper for Manchester United for years to come moving forward while De Gea would soon be shown the exit door.

Things have not turned out as expected though. De Gea remained at the club in the summer despite many exit rumours and the competition for places has appeared to bring the best out of him.

The Spaniard is performing at a top level once again this season while Henderson has struggled for playing time. As a result, he is the one now expected to leave but Manchester United do not seem keen to let him go before bringing in a replacement.
