The ongoing January transfer window has already posed some interesting questions for Manchester United. Many of them revolve around the futures of those playing their football away from Old Trafford at the moment or struggling for minutes despite being at the club. It has provided the Red Devils with a need to take a look at the situation and make some decisions soon.

In recent times, the future of Andreas Pereira at Old Trafford has emerged as a topic of discussion. He left Manchester United on loan last summer and joined Flamengo for a year. The Brazilian club are already looking to sign him on a permanent basis though after his impressive displays.

But the deal between Manchester United and Flamengo appears to have an option to buy set at a transfer fee around €20 million. It does not feel like the Brazilian club will shell out that kind of a transfer fee for the midfielder.

Flamengo are believed to have recently submitted a lower transfer bid for the 26-year-old, whose current deal with Manchester United is believed to run out in the summer of 2023.

Manchester United yet to make Pereira transfer decision

As reported by ge.globo, Flamengo put in a transfer offer of €8 million to sign Pereira on a permanent basis. They are still awaiting Manchester United’s response though as the board have not contacted back till now.

Pereira will have only one year left in his Manchester United contract by the time this season is over. Thus, it would become even more difficult for the Red Devils then to find him a new club and receive a good transfer fee at the same time.

Also, the club are expected to make some big moves next summer as it looks like 2021/22 is going to end up as another disappointing season for them. And finally, it is believed that Pereira also wants to stay at Flamengo.
