Defence has continued to be a problem for Manchester United despite them signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid in the summer. One of the most decorated defenders of all-time, who has won the World Cup as well as multiple Champions League titles, he was viewed as a major coup for the Red Devils and was expected to come in and transform their defence. That has not happened till now.

Varane has struggled with injury problems and has not looked at his assured best when he has been on the pitch either. On the other hand, questions have been raised about first-team regulars like Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well.

As a result, at this point of time, Manchester United could definitely do with more additions at the back and it appears that they have a Wolves defender in their sights.

As reported by 90min, one player who is being monitored by the club is Wolves’ Max Kilman, who is enjoying a brilliant season.

Manchester United are monitoring Wolves’ Kilman

Kilman has played every minute of Wolves’ Premier League campaign till now and has been very impressive. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 23 appearances across all competitions for the club, playing 2070 minutes of football in total.

Kilman has been with Wolves since the summer of 2018 and after his incredibly impressive campaign, it might be the right time for the 24-year-old centre-back to go after a different challenge.

It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United do end up making a move for the Wolves star. It is worth pointing out though that he is not the only centre-back that they have been linked with in recent times. The names of Matthijs de Ligt, Ronald Araujo and Antonio Rudiger have been brought up as well as potential targets.
