Manchester United have made a disappointing start to their domestic campaign. Many believed that the Red Devils were ready to make a Premier League title challenge this season but instead they currently sit at seventh in the table and could have a tough time even finishing in the top four this season if things don’t improve drastically over the coming weeks and months. The January transfer window is an opportunity for them to strengthen their squad.
Rumours had suggested that Manchester United could be ready to make a few additions this month but till now, that has not happened.
The Red Devils have continued to struggle on the pitch though and now, it looks like the club might be considering the prospect of strengthening the midfield in order to give their top four chances a boost.
As tweeted out by Jonathan Shrager, there is now an open dialogue between Manchester United and RB Leipzig regarding Amadou Haidara:
Whilst talks are in preliminary stages, I am told that there is now an open dialogue between #MUFC and RB Leipzig regarding Amadou Haidara

Manchester United have opened talks for RB Leipzig midfielder
It is no surprise that Manchester United are being linked with a RB Leipzig player, considering Rangnick’s history with the Bundesliga side.
Haidara has been a standout in the Bundesliga recently and thus could prove to be a solid addition for this Manchester United team.
Midfield has been considered as one of their weaknesses in recent times. Fred and Scott McTominay have blown hot and cold when it comes to their form. Nemanja Matic is no longer at the top of his game at 33 years of age. And both Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek could potentially depart Old Trafford in the not too distant future.
Thus, it will make sense on the part of Manchester United to make a move for someone like Haidara although it remains to be seen if they are able to get a deal over the line and bring him to Old Trafford.
