Barcelona star offered to Manchester United for €20 million

Manchester United have not made a single signing in the January transfer window till now. When Ralf Rangnick arrived as the interim manager of the club, the feeling was that the squad was good enough to finish in the top four of the Premier League without any more additions. But as we know by now, it has not been smooth sailing for the German coach either and the Red Devils find themselves sitting at seventh as of now.

Thus, the January transfer window provides them a good opportunity to make some signings in order to give the team a boost and hopefully push them towards a top four finish.

And now, it looks like an opportunity has been presented to Manchester United by Barcelona to make a major signing this month.

As reported by SPORT, Barcelona have offered Manchester United and Newcastle United the chance to sign Ousmane Dembele for a transfer fee around €20 million. His current deal at Camp Nou runs out next summer.

Dembele was once considered one of the biggest talents in world football but his development has stalled in recent years as he has suffered one injury after another during his time at Camp Nou.

The Frenchman is still very highly-rated though and several clubs around Europe are believed to have an eye on him.

Dembele’s current deal with Barcelona is set to run out in the summer and while an offer to renew is believed to have been on the table for a while, the 24-year-old has not put pen to paper, as it looks unlikely that he will extend his contract.

As a result, Barcelona appear to be looking to get a transfer fee out of his departure rather than let him walk out as a free agent at the end of the season. And Manchester United are a club who have been linked with Dembele for a long time.
