Manchester United are yet to make an addition in the January transfer window despite the club continuing to struggle for form. The game against Aston Villa showed a lot of things that are wrong with the Red Devils right now in a nutshell. With a 2-0 lead going into the last quarter of the match, most people would have expected Ralf Rangnick’s side to come out of Birmingham with all three points.

Instead, Jacob Ramsey and Philippe Coutinho scored late on for Aston Villa and the match ended in a 2-2 draw. And it is safe to say that it very much felt like two points dropped on the part of Manchester United.

Thus, there might be need for the Red Devils to strengthen their squad this month if they are to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

And as reported by the Mirror, RB Leipzig have already verbally agreed a £33 million fee with Rangnick for the move of Amadou Haidara but Manchester United are yet to submit a formal transfer bid. On the other hand, Newcastle United appear to have an eye on the midfielder as well.

Manchester United are yet to submit a formal offer for Haidara

Haidara has been a standout performer for RB Leipzig in recent times. And it is safe to say that Manchester United could do with another midfielder right now.

The forms of Fred and Scott McTominay have blown hot and cold for some time now. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic is no longer in his prime at 33 years of age. The futures of Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek are up in the air as well.

Now, it remains to be seen if Manchester United do decide to make a move for another midfielder this January or wait for longer, for when they have a long-term manager in place.
