Manchester United have a lot of things to take care of in the current campaign as they sit at seventh in the Premier League table. It includes assessing the situations with their players out on loan. Knowing that playing time at Old Trafford was difficult to come by, the club let a number of players leave on loan in the summer transfer window. And while some have been helped by it, others have struggled.
Andreas Pereira was one of the players who left Manchester United on loan in an attempt to get some regular minutes under his belt. He moved to Brazil and joined Flamengo there.
Pereira’s loan spell is set to come to an end in the summer of 2022. However, there have been suggestions that the loan agreement includes an option-to-buy for a transfer fee around €20 million.
And it looks like the Brazilian club want to sign Pereira on a permanent basis but they do not appear to be keen on shelling out that kind of a transfer fee for the Manchester United player.
Pereira could leave Manchester United in the near future
As reported by TNT Sports, while Manchester United should play hard in negotiations, they should probably let Pereira leave for a transfer fee around €10 million.
Since joining Flamengo in the summer, Pereira has been impressive and even reinvented himself to a certain extent, playing in different roles.
Though, his time in Brazil has not been straightforward, with his mistake in the Copa Libertadores final against Palmeiras playing a major role in Flamengo’s defeat.
Overall though, it appears that Flamengo are happy with the Manchester United player and want him to remain at the club. On the other hand, it would make sense for Pereira to stay at a club where he is getting regular minutes on the pitch.
