Manchester United have a lot of problems right now. They currently sit at 7th in the Premier League table and could find it a tough task to even break into the top four by the end of the season. On the other hand, they are out of the League Cup as well and at this moment, it does feel like the FA Cup represents their best chance of silverware this season although they are in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages as well.

Their biggest worry right now might be the fact that the performances have not picked up despite the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.

Of course, there are several players who have struggled for form this season and have been nowhere near the top of their games.

As a result, it might be time for some of them to be dropped from the starting XI and try something different.

Manchester United: 3 stars who should be dropped

Here are three Manchester United stars who should be dropped from the starting XI after struggling to find form this season:

Fernandes was arguably the best player in the Premier League for the first season-and-a-half after joining Manchester United.

This season though, he has looked like a completely different player and has not been nearly as effective as he has been in the past, especially in domestic competition.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season. It must also be pointed out that he had scored a hattrick in the opening game of the campaign against Leeds United, meaning he has found the back of the net only twice since then.

Thus, a short spell out of the starting XI might not be a bad idea and maybe he could rediscover his form while playing as an impact substitute.
