Manchester United did a brilliant job keeping the core of their squad together while signing superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho in the summer. The club had finished second in the Premier League last season and as a result, were understandably, expected to put up a title challenge this time around. It is safe to say that things have gone differently than first envisioned.
On the other hand, the club would be expected to have a much tougher time keeping some of their players next summer, either due to them struggling for playing time or their current deals running out.
Paul Pogba is someone who has been linked with a Manchester United exit for a long time. And with his current deal set to expire next summer, and an extension not looking on the horizon, the French World Cup winner might very well walk out as a free agent.
As reported by El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain are the most likely destination for Pogba next summer.
PSG are favourites to sign Manchester United superstar next summer
Paris Saint-Germain were linked with a move for Pogba extensively in the recent summer transfer window as well. But their plans appeared to take a turn after they were able to sign Lionel Messi.
Things have not gone as smoothly for the French giants as they would have hoped at the beginning of the campaign though. They have a solid lead in the Ligue 1 table but have not been at their dominant best. On the other hand, their performances in the Champions League have raised a lot of doubts about their ability to compete for the title this season. Overall, Mauricio Pochettino has not been able to get the best out of their incredible squad.
As a result, the Manchester United superstar could be a great addition for Paris Saint-Germain next summer, especially on a free transfer.
