Manchester United are no strangers to making huge moves. They have pulled off many in recent transfer windows. It was just this summer that they signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. The magnitude of the moves have not reflected on the performances on the pitch though as the Red Devils have continued to struggle and never put up a serious Premier League title challenge since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
This time around, there were high hopes that they would be able to do so. They had finished second last season and strengthened significantly in the summer. That has not turned out to be the case though as Manchester United appear to have taken a step back and sit at 7th in the Premier League table right now.
While they had kept the core of their squad together this time around, the picture might be very different next summer. Paul Pogba is someone who could be headed out with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season.
Manchester United already appear to have their eyes set on a replacement though. As reported by El Nacional, the club are ready to make a €115 million offer in hopes of signing Declan Rice from West Ham United.
Manchester United ready to make huge offer for Rice
Rice has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League for a while now and is also a regular in the England national team already, having played a big role in their run to the EURO 2020 final. Also, still just 22 years of age, he could improve a lot moving forward.
Several top clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with a potential move for Rice in the future.
Thus, if Manchester United are able to sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on their part. It remains to be seen what the future holds.
