Manchester United have not made the start to the season that they would have been hoping for. Considered title contenders at the start of the campaign, they now sit at seventh in the table and have a tough task on their hands if they are to break into the top four once again. The recent form of Chelsea and West Ham United has given the Red Devils some hope in that regard though.
But if they are to make it up the Premier League table over the coming weeks and months, they will need to improve a lot.
And several of their players will have to step up to the plate, after underwhelming for the first half of the season.
In fact, other than David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo, no other player has particularly impressed for Manchester United through the course of this current campaign till now.
Manchester United: 3 players who need to improve
Here are three Manchester United players who need to improve if they are to make a run for the Premier League top four this season:
Harry Maguire

Questions have been raised about the Manchester United captain as he has struggled to rediscover his form from the previous campaign.
Last season, Maguire was solid at the back for both Manchester United and the England national team, and enjoyed a superb campaign. This time though, the picture has been quite different and there have been many calls for him to be dropped from the starting XI.
That has not happened till now and the club captain has continued to get consistent playing time. But if his performances don’t improve soon, the picture might start to change.
Victor Lindelof has arguably been Manchester United’s best centre-back this season and with Raphael Varane returning from injury recently, he will be expected to start regularly for the Red Devils as well.
