Manchester United need to strengthen in multiple areas all over the pitch. While the club have several world-class players in their squad, the performances on the pitch have not reflected that this season. At this point of time, they sit at 7th in the Premier League, are out of the League Cup and the FA Cup appears to represent their best chance of silverware this season although it must be pointed out that the Red Devils are in the UEFA Champions League last 16 as well.
One area that Manchester United could certainly do with another option or two in is their midfield. It has been a position of worry for a while now and there could be more problems surrounding it in the future.
The futures of both Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek are up in the air at the moment, while Nemanja Matic has been linked with a move away on several occasions as well.
Thus, it would not be a surprise if Manchester United end up signing another midfielder in the near future and one player that they have been linked with recently is Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma. It will not be an easy task to sign him though.
Manchester United learn Bissouma transfer price
As reported by The Athletic (via Daily Mail), Brighton & Hove Albion are under no pressure to let Bissouma go but could change their mind if an offer around £50 million is made.
Bissouma has impressed a lot since his arrival at Brighton & Hove Albion but even then that is a steep transfer fee for sure, especially for January.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United do end up making a move for Bissouma in the future. They are not the only club being linked with the Mali international though. Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are also believed to have an eye on the midfielder.
