Manchester United made quite the statement when they signed Amad from Atalanta. He is one of the most highly-rated young talents in the world and many believe that he has the potential to go on to become one of the best in the game in the future. For now though, he has not gotten a lot of playing time at Old Trafford and looks to be headed out on loan to the Championship.
In the summer, it had looked like he would be joining Feyenoord on loan before an untimely injury meant that that did not end up happening.
And now, it appears that he will be staying in English football. As reported by 90min, Amad will join Birmingham City on loan for the rest of the season.
Birmingham City currently find themselves sitting at 18th in the Championship table and could certainly do with a player like Amad. While the youngster has not made a huge mark on the Manchester United senior side, he has shown enough to be excited about, including a goal against AC Milan last season.

It goes without saying that this is a big move for Amad to prove himself in the English game. While he has put in some incredible displays at the youth level for Manchester United, he still has not played a lot of football for the senior team.
Amad’s signing was one of the club’s most fascinating in recent times. As reported by ESPN, Manchester United shelled out an initial €21 million transfer fee, plus another €20 million in add-ons to sign him from Atalanta.
It remains to be seen if he can justify that kind of a transfer fee in the future. For now, it does not look like he will be getting a lot of first-team minutes for Manchester United and thus, a loan move away seems like the right step for him.
