The January transfer window is already past its first week and in terms of incomings, there has not been much around Manchester United. Ralf Rangnick is the interim manager at Old Trafford right now, and it appears that the German coach will be focusing more on what is available to him at the moment, unless a can’t miss opportunity ends up arising.
On the other hand, a few loan deals have already taken place, with Axel Tuanzebe’s move to Napoli till the end of the campaign being the most notable out of them. But it looks like Manchester United don’t intend to stop in that respect yet.
That is understandable as there are several players who have failed to get significant playing time in the first half of the 2021/22 season at Old Trafford.
And as reported by The Sun, Manchester United are ready to loan out Anthony Elanga to the Championship. It appears that the club want the youngster to start playing at the senior level regularly after impressing while coming through the youth ranks.
Manchester United ready to send out rising star on loan
Elanga was very impressive while emerging through the ranks, and the Swedish youth international made his competitive debut for Manchester United last season in a Premier League game against Leicester City. He would then score his first goal for the club against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final day of the campaign.
Elanga impressed tremendously in pre-season this time around and it felt like he could make progress in the senior team this season. But then, he unfortunately got injured and it did not end up happening.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made only 4 appearances and played for 127 minutes this season for Manchester United’s senior team. As a result, a move away on loan might be the right step at this stage of his career.
