After their disappointing start to the season, Manchester United knew that they needed to make some changes and they did exactly that by showing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the exit door and bringing in Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager till the end of the campaign. But despite the German coach’s arrival, the Red Devils have continued to struggle on the pitch as it looks like they could have a tough time breaking into the top four of the Premier League.

Many would have hoped for Rangnick to make a terrific start at Manchester United but that has not happened. And the club are expected to make a long-term appointment next summer.

Mauricio Pochettino is one of the names who has been heavily linked with the Old Trafford job for a while now and it looks like the club have made some progress in that regard.

As reported by Canal Supporters, journalist Dominique Severac stated on La Chaine L’Equipe that Manchester United want Pochettino and he wants to go, so we are not far from an agreement and it’s almost done.

Manchester United are very close to agreement for Pochettino

Pochettino has been linked with Manchester United for a long time, dating as far back as to when he was still the Tottenham Hotspur manager. Thus, if the club are finally able to sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the Red Devils.

It must be pointed out that Pochettino has not had a great time at Paris Saint-Germain recently and has struggled to get the best out of their incredible squad, which was expected to dominate domestically and in Europe this season.

There have been some rumours that Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Zinedine Zidane to become their manager from next season. If that turns out to be the case indeed then the path would be clear for Pochettino to join Manchester United next summer.
