Manchester United did a brilliant job keeping the core of their squad together in the summer while also bringing in superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. As a result, many expected the Red Devils to mount a Premier League title challenge. That has not turned out to be the case though. Instead, the team seems to have taken a step back and could struggle to finish in the top four this season.

Manchester United might have a few problems to deal with beyond this campaign as well, with several of their players set to become free agents in the summer or one more year later.

Thus, it is the right time for the club to hand some contract extensions to a few of their players, in order to keep them at Old Trafford for the long-term.

And it will be interesting to see whether they are able to do that or not.

3 players Manchester United need to give contract extensions

Here are three players that Manchester United need to give contract extensions to, either due to their current deals expiring or their brilliant form:

A lot has been written about Pogba’s future at Manchester United already. For years, he has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and next summer, he could have the opportunity to do that as a free agent, with his current deal running out.

There is not expected to be any lack of interest in his signature, with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain being linked with him.

Manchester United must do all that they can to keep him at Old Trafford beyond this season though. Pogba is one of the best midfielders in the world at the top of his game. And also, one would expect his transfer value to be more than £50 million.
