One player who has been heavily linked with a Manchester United exit in January is Anthony Martial. It is no secret that the French international would prefer a move away from Old Trafford this month if possible after struggling for both form and playing time for a while now. And there does not seem to be any lack of interest in his signature although a transfer has not materialised yet.
There have been suggestions that Martial prefers a move to Sevilla despite other European giants being linked with him as well. His primary aim right now seems to be to go to a club where he will get regular playing time.
As reported by Telefoot (via Metro), Martial has spoken to Sevilla manager, Julen Lopetegui, and has given his OK to join the La Liga side.
However, Manchester United are still stalling over a move because Sevilla do not want to shell out a loan fee and are continuing to request the Red Devils to pay a part of Martial’s salary. On the other hand, both Barcelona and Juventus have registered their interest in recent days as well.
Martial’s Manchester United future is up in the air right now
Not too long ago, Martial was one of the most highly-rated talents in the world and believed to an important part of this Manchester United team for years to come. And while things might not have gone his way in recent times, there is no question about his potential.
Clubs like Juventus, Barcelona and Sevilla are still interested in him and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Frenchman.
It does look like he will be sent on an initial loan with his long-term future decided later on in the summer. Of course, if the right offer does not come in, the possibility of him remaining at Old Trafford cannot be ruled out either.
