With less than six months left in his Manchester United contract, Paul Pogba is closer than ever to bidding farewell to Old Trafford for the second time in his career. Signed in the summer of 2016 for a then world record transfer fee, the Frenchman’s second stint at the club has not been as successful as most would have hoped. And now, a departure as a free agent looks very much possible.

Despite winning the World Cup with the France national side in 2018, Pogba has not looked at his best at the club level since leaving Juventus. While playing for Manchester United, his performances have been inconsistent and have often been criticised.

And after years of rumours regarding Pogba’s potential move away from Old Trafford, it looks as if the Frenchman could finally leave the club next summer, when his current deal runs out.

Manchester United appear to be determined to keep hold of their star player though. As reported by The Sun, the Red Devils have offered Pogba a new deal on a whopping wage of £500,000 per week. That would make him the highest paid player in Premier League history.

Manchester United have made record offer to Pogba

Juventus, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and some other European heavyweights are believed to be keeping a keen eye on Pogba’s situation. And now that we are in January, the Frenchman is free to sign a pre-contract agreement as well.

The French midfield maestro has been out with an injury for a while and has not played a single minute for Manchester United since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.

The situation is certainly interesting surrounding his future. Manchester United appear to have made him a Premier League record offer. But on the other hand, he could command a massive signing on fee if he joined another club.
