Manchester United are not expected to have a busy January transfer window in terms of incomings, which is understandable considering the fact that the club brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton in the summer. The situation might not be similar in terms of outgoings though, with a number of players struggling for playing time at Old Trafford right now.
It is no secret that Anthony Martial is a player who is looking to leave Manchester United this January, if possible. And it is believed that the Red Devils will not stand in his way if the right offer comes in.
Quite a few clubs have been linked with the player including Barcelona. And now, the Spanish giants might potentially have to turn towards the Frenchman, after their chase for Alvaro Morata came to an end.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Massimiliano Allegri has made it clear that Morata will not be leaving in January and is 100% staying at Juventus.
Barcelona could potentially move for Manchester United star after Morata blow
It had looked like Morata was Barcelona’s number one target when it comes to striker but now that it has become clear that he will be staying on at Juventus, the Spanish giants will have to look towards different players.
Martial is someone that Barcelona have already been linked with in recent weeks and it does look like Manchester United are willing to let him leave, after the Frenchman has struggled for form in recent times and has barely featured this season.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Martial has made 10 appearances this season and scored just once.
There is no question about the French international’s ability and potential though, and if he can rediscover his best form, he can be a great player for any club.
