Things are not just going Manchester United’s way at the moment. Many would have expected them to challenge for the Premier League title this season after their incredible summer transfer window, bringing in superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho. But things have gone in completely the opposite direction and now, they have a struggle on their hands to even finish in the top four this season.

Just when it had looked like things were looking up for Manchester United, they were handed another huge blow, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wolves at Old Trafford.

And to be honest, it could have ended even worse for them if not for David de Gea in goal, as Wolves completely dominated the game.

Thus, it is safe to say that Ralf Rangnick needs to shuffle things up in hopes of turning this season around. And one thing that he has to try at this point of time is leaving Ronaldo on the bench.

Manchester United need to make tough Ronaldo decision

While Manchester United have tried a lot of different things this season, one thing that they have not done often is playing without Ronaldo.

And it is not hard to see why. The Portuguese superstar is one of the greatest in the history of the game and is also Manchester United’s top scorer this season.

But as a team, they have appeared to take a step back this season. Last season, the Red Devils had finished in second. This time around, with half the season gone, they sit at seventh.

Thus, there is no harm in trying something different, because things are clearly not working at the moment. Yes, it would be a huge call to make for any manager in the world, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
