Julian Alvarez looks like one of the most in-demand talents in world football right now with Manchester United believed to be one of the many clubs interested in his signature. They are not alone though as clubs like Juventus, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and several others have been linked with the rising Argentine star as well, as it looks like it is going to be a very tight transfer race.

It is not hard to see why there is so much interest in Alvarez. He is coming off of a tremendous campaign with River Plate.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 18 goals and provided 7 assists in 21 league appearances for River Plate in the 2021 season. And at 21 years of age, he would only expected to get better moving forward.

As tweeted out by Roberto Rojas, it looks like his agent Fernando Hidalgo is set to meet with several European clubs with the aim of reaching a deal for the River Plate star, with meetings set to take place in Manchester, London, Milan and Madrid.

Alvarez to Manchester United transfer update

After enjoying tremendous success in Argentina, it might be time for Alvarez to make the jump to Europe. And it is clear that he does not have any lack of options at the moment.

What makes him an even more attractive target for many clubs is that he is believed to have a £17 million release clause, which is not very high when you consider the modern day football transfer market as well as the potential that Alvarez has as a player.

If Manchester United are able to sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the Red Devils. But it is safe to say that it is going to be a very tough transfer race.
