The futures of several Manchester United players are up in the air right now. This includes first-team stars like Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and others, as well as players who are currently out on loan. While the club did a fantastic job in keeping the core of their squad in the last summer transfer window, the picture might be very different in the near future.

One player who is currently out on loan is Axel Tuanzebe. He joined Aston Villa on a temporary basis in the summer in search of playing time. It is safe to say though that it has not worked out for him.

Tuanzebe has barely featured for Steven Gerrard’s side in recent times and as a result, there have been suggestions that his loan stay could be cut short.

And now, it appears that Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement with Napoli, to send Tuanzebe on loan to the Italian club for the second half of the season. Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:

The Manchester United player looks set to join Napoli on loan

While his loan spell at Aston Villa might not have worked out, there is no question about Tuanzebe’s talent or potential.

He has been very highly rated for a long time and is also known for his leadership qualities, having captained Manchester United in the past. He also showed how good he can actually be when on top form, with his incredible performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Now 24 years of age, he needs to play regular football though. And having not gotten that at Aston Villa, it makes sense for him to move away. A loan move to Napoli is certainly quite tempting. Now, it remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming weeks.
