Manchester United have not been able to get back to the top of the Premier League since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. And it has not been from a lack of trying. The club have had multiple managers over the last eight years or so, and have also made some huge signings as well. But it just has not worked out at Old Trafford.

Just this summer, they brought in superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Manchester United had finished second in the Premier League last season and following those additions, it was expected that they would make a title challenge.

That has not turned out to be the case though. Instead, they find themselves in a top four race and have already parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, bringing in Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager till the end of the campaign.

The club have also been linked with a number of players from La Liga recently, although it remains to be seen if they do end up making moves.

Manchester United: 3 La Liga stars they could sign

Here are three La Liga stars that Manchester United have been linked with in recent times and could potentially make a move for in the future:

Joao Felix

Not too long ago, Joao Felix was one of the most highly rated young players in the world and Atletico Madrid shattered their transfer record to sign him from Benfica.

Since then though, things have not quite gone his way as Atletico Madrid has never quite looked like the right fit for the Portuguese star.

After two-and-a-half seasons at the club without making a significant impact, it is almost expected that he is being linked with a move away and Manchester United are one of the clubs believed to be interested.

There is no question about Felix’s talent and potential, but it is expected to take a significant transfer fee to sign him from Atletico Madrid.
