After dropping a couple of points against Newcastle United, Manchester United’s upcoming game against Burnley has become even more important for them. The Red Devils put in an uninspiring performance against the Magpies in the previous Premier League match, and had to rely on a scruffy goal from Edinson Cavani and some incredible saves from David de Gea to come out with a 1-1 draw.

That will need to change when they face Burnley at Old Trafford. Also, it must be pointed out that this is the third straight game that they will face a team in the Premier League relegation zone.

Despite their last performance, Ralf Rangnick’s side will be the favourites going into the contest, especially with home advantage on their side. They will be without a few of their key players though.

As reported by Manchester United’s official website, Victor Lindelof (tested positive recently), Paul Pogba (injury) and Bruno Fernandes (suspension), have all been ruled out for their game against Burnley.

With Fernandes and Pogba both out of contention, it might give Rangnick a chance to give Donny van de Beek a run out in the attacking midfield position and see how he does. Or the German coach could try to come up with a different solution. It remains to be seen.

One thing is clear though. Manchester United need to get all three points here to keep in touching distance of the Premier League top four race, with Arsenal showing some impressive form in recent times.

With the world-class quality that Manchester United possess all over the pitch and Burnley’s struggles this season, the Red Devils will hopefully have enough in the tank to get a win at the Theatre of Dreams and get momentum back on their side once again, after the recent stumble against Newcastle United.
