Bruno Fernandes has established himself as an absolute superstar ever since arriving at Manchester United in January of 2020. The Portuguese playmaker had a huge hand in turning the club’s season around in the 2019/20 campaign and then guiding them to a second place finish last season. There is no doubt that he has been one of the best players in the world during that period of time.

He still has a long time remaining on his current deal with Manchester United but there have already been rumours about a contract extension.

It looks like Fernandes already has eyes on what he is going to do after his playing career comes to an end as well, as it is clear that he wants to become a manager one day.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, when taking part in a Christmas special video on Manchester United’s official YouTube channel with a couple of young fans, when they said that they would give him a diary, he replied:

"“Yes, because I want to be a manager, I am doing the course.”"

There is very little doubt that Fernandes is planning to become a manager when his playing career comes to an end but now, it looks like he once again has something to prove on the pitch.

Questions have been raised about his form this season. He started the campaign in spectacular fashion, scoring a hattrick against Leeds United in the club’s first Premier League game this time around.

But since then, he has struggled to match his previous numbers for Manchester United. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists in 22 appearances for the club this season.

Those are still great numbers, but still not touching the bar that Fernandes has set for himself. Hopefully, he will find his best form soon.
