Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future has been up in the air for quite some time. The French World Cup winner has been linked with an Old Trafford exit several times through the course of his time at the club. And now, with his current deal running out next summer, it is very possible that he could walk out as a free agent at the end of the season, with a contract extension not looking on the horizon.
Pogba started the season in incredible form for Manchester United but his form has faded away significantly since then. He is out with an injury at the moment but he had found himself on the bench at times before that as well.
And with Ralf Rangnick arriving as the interim manager till the end of the season, it will be interesting to see if he can break into the German coach’s starting XI.
Recently, several rumours have emerged surrounding the future of Pogba and a potential exit as early as next month. But as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are not negotiating with any club to let the French midfield maestro leave in January.
Manchester United not negotiating a Pogba exit in January
It is believed that Manchester United want Pogba to sign a contract extension with the club. But the Frenchman has not made a decision on his future yet.
If Pogba was to leave, especially as a free agent, it would be a massive blow for the club. Now, it remains to be seen what he ends up deciding to do.
If the Frenchman did end up leaving Old Trafford when this season comes to an end, he is not expected to have any lack of options, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and several other top European clubs being linked with him in recent times.
