Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure after almost three years in charge and Ralf Rangnick’s arrival as the Manchester United interim manager have changed a lot of things at Old Trafford. Despite the disappointing start to the season, the Norwegian had mostly stuck to his tried and tested players until he was shown the exit door.
Since the arrival of the German coach though, we have seen some players previously struggling for playing time take their chance and make an impression in the first-team.
Alex Telles is one of them and he has been nothing short of brilliant in the absence of Luke Shaw. And now, there could be genuine competition for the left-back spot at Manchester United once again. But the same can be said about the right-back spot as well.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has had a couple of injury problems recently which have allowed Diogo Dalot to come into the first-team and he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. As a result, the right-back spot could be up in the air at the moment as well, and it will be interesting to see who Rangnick ends up going with when both are fit.
Manchester United have massive right-back choice to make
It is safe to say that it is not going to be an easy decision to make, as both players are different to each other and both have their own pros and cons.
Thus, it might all come down to who fits Rangnick’s style of football better and who makes more of an impression in the early performances under him.
The other one could have a mountain to climb to get back into the starting XI. At the moment, it does look like the Portuguese international has a slight advantage but who will win the first-team place for the long-term?
