Ralf Rangnick arrived at Manchester United as the interim manager till the end of the season after which he will take a consultancy role at Old Trafford. And the primary aim for the German coach is expected to be to take the Red Devils back up to the top four. And that looks much more attainable now than it did a few weeks back, with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea struggling badly in recent weeks.
On the other hand, Rangnick has made a very promising start to life at Manchester United while overall, the club’s performances have improved significantly since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Thus, it is safe to say that things are looking up for the Red Devils right now. And the club could hand Rangnick a huge boost next month.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are prepared to move for a holding midfielder in the January transfer window. And it is believed that RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara has become of interest to the club since the German coach’s arrival.
Manchester United could hand Rangnick huge boost in January
Strengthening the midfield could be a massive boost for Manchester United. That is an area that they were expected to make a signing in in the summer but did not end up doing so.
They have been linked with quite a few players in a holding midfield position in recent times other than Haidara. Names like Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni have been brought up frequently, but they do not seem like signings that the club could pull off in January.
It remains to be seen if they do end up making an addition in holding midfield next month because Rangnick has been known to prefer playing with a couple of them in his teams over the years.
