Manchester United make Diogo Dalot transfer decision
Diogo Dalot has not gotten a lot of chances since arriving at Manchester United in the summer of 2018. He even spent the previous season out on loan at AC Milan and had a decent time there. Many people expected him to seal a permanent exit in the summer but it did not end up happening and he ended up staying at Old Trafford. This season was not going his way either as the Portuguese international struggled for playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Things seem to have taken a turn for Dalot though since the departure of Solskjaer. He has played more regular minutes recently, although Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s injury problems have been a major reason behind that as well.
It is safe to say though that Dalot has taken his chance with both hands and has put in some great performances for Manchester United recently. And now, it does feel like he is very much back in the first-team mix.
There were a lot of rumours linking him with a Manchester United exit in recent months, especially with Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma. But as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, the club are more than happy with his performances and he is now a key player for Ralf Rangnick.
Dalot looks set to stay at Manchester United
Wan-Bissaka has been the first-choice right-back for Manchester United since joining the club in the summer of 2019. But now, it looks like he has some genuine competition for his spot in the starting XI.
Questions have been asked about his form as well as his ability going forward. On the other hand, Dalot has impressed with his recent performances and one has to admit that he looks like a better fit for Rangnick’s style of football.
Thus, it will be interesting to see who Manchester United’s regular right-back is moving forward.
