Manchester United have set Anthony Martial transfer price

When Manchester United had signed Anthony Martial from AS Monaco back in 2015, they broke the record for the highest transfer fee paid for a teenager at that point of time. Back then, many believed that the Frenchman had the potential to be the best player in the world one day. It is safe to say that things have not quite turned out that way till now and he has had an up and down time at Old Trafford over the years.

Martial has shown glimpses of how good he can be. The 2019/20 campaign is a great example of that. He finished that season as the club’s highest goalscorer and was considered a major part of Manchester United’s future at that point.

Now though, it looks like it is only a matter of time before he departs the club. Martial has not been able to find his form in the past season-and-a-half and appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United.

It appears that he wants to leave the club in January itself. And as reported by the Mirror, Manchester United value Martial at around £30 million.

That figure is lower than the initial fee that Manchester United had shelled out to sign Martial from AS Monaco in 2015.

But even then, it is a significant figure considering the fact that he has been completely out of form for more than a year now.

One has to feel though that there is still a lot of untapped potential in Martial. His biggest problem is probably his consistency. On top of his game he looks absolutely brilliant but he finds that kind of form rarely.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Martial but it does look like it lies away from Manchester United.
