The last month or so have been filled with changes at Manchester United. At first, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was shown the exit door after almost three years in the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford following their disappointing start to the season. Michael Carrick took charge as the caretaker manager and produced some impressive results during his short run of three games.

Ralf Rangnick was brought in as the interim manager till the end of the season after that but the expectation was that Carrick would continue in his coaching role, after first taking it during the time of Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager.

But the former Manchester United midfielder decided that it was time for a change and departed the club when his run as caretaker manager came to an end. And that was not the only change in the coaching ranks at Old Trafford either.

Ipswich Town have confirmed that Kieran McKenna is the new manager of the club on their official website. He had held a coaching role in the Manchester United senior team since 2018 as well.

McKenna has left Manchester United to become the Ipswich Town manager

Ipswich Town are currently in League One and represent McKenna’s first stint as a first-team manager. It will be interesting to see how he does and we can only wish him the best of luck moving forward.

On the other hand, it looks like Ralf Rangnick will continue to shape his backroom staff, and it remains to be seen when or if he makes another addition to his coaching team following McKenna’s departure.

It must be pointed out though that Rangnick is only the interim manager of the club till the end of this campaign after which he is set to take a consultancy role with the Red Devils.
