The January transfer window is approaching fast, and Manchester United could make some moves, although it is believed that the club will prioritise finding some of their players new homes over signing new ones. Following the arrival of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho last summer, a few players have experienced a decline in their playing time and could be looking to leave.

Anthony Martial is one such player. He enjoyed an excellent 2019-20 campaign, finishing as the club’s top scorer that season. Back then, he was considered to be a part of the backbone of the club for years to come.

A few years on and it looks like it is only a matter of time before he leaves, as the Frenchman has not found his best form in front of goal since enjoying that brilliant 2019/20 campaign.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has played just 359 minutes of football this season, scoring once and injuries have not helped the France international’s cause either. And it appears that he is looking to leave Manchester United in January to secure regular playing time elsewhere.

Juventus linked with move for Manchester United star

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Juventus are being linked with signing Martial from Manchester United. But at this point of time, it looks like a loan deal would work for the Italian side, as the Red Devils are still asking for a significant transfer fee for the Frenchman.

Martial’s current contract at Manchester United will expire in the summer of 2024, meaning that the club have no immediate need to let him leave.

Other than Juventus, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in signing Martial if the opportunity is there. Thus, it will be interesting to see how things turn out over the coming weeks.
