Ralf Rangnick has arrived as Manchester United’s interim manager after the club decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a disappointing start to the campaign. And the change has appeared to have the desired effect till now as the club have won two and drawn one of his three games in charge of the Red Devils. But they must also have an eye on the future as his run in the managerial hot seat will come to an end at the end of the season.

Of course, if Rangnick produces incredible results and leads Manchester United to silverware, then there is a good chance that he could be offered the role on a permanent basis. But at the moment, that does not appear to be the plan.

Manchester United have been linked with several managers over the course of the past several months including Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers and many others.

But as reported by the Mirror, Manchester United have identified Ajax’s Erik ten Hag as the manager who can bring back the glory days as it looks like he has jumped the queue for the Old Trafford job.

Manchester United linked with move for Ten Hag

There is no doubt about the fact that Ten Hag is one of the most exciting managers in world football right now.

He first rose to prominence a few years back when he guided Ajax to an unlikely run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and they were moments away from making it to the final before being knocked out by a late goal from Tottenham Hotspur.

This season, Ajax have done tremendously well again, winning all six of their group stage games in the Champions League despite being put in a difficult group. And thus, they could be one of the dark horses to make a deep run in the competition.
