Manchester United appear to have found their form in recent weeks following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They had a solid run under Michael Carrick as caretaker manager and have made a bright start since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager. While there is a lot of room for improvement in the performances, the Red Devils have been getting the results recently, which is a major positive for them.
One of Manchester United’s biggest worries this season has been their injury record. Several important players have had to spend time on the sidelines at one point or another. And it is safe to say that that is far from ideal.
But things appear to be looking up on the injury front as well and a few of their players could end up making their return to the pitch against Brentford, although the status of the match is under some doubt at the moment after Covid cases in the Manchester United camp.
While speaking about the game after their win against Norwich City, as reported by Manchester United’s official website, Rangnick had said:
"“A few players are available again, I think Luke Shaw, who was in the squad today, Wan-Bissaka be available again on Tuesday, and even Edi [Cavani] might be an option, so we have to wait and see.”"
Manchester United duo could return against Brentford
It is safe to say that this is great news for Manchester United, as they need as many options as possible during the busy December fixture run.
Wan-Bissaka has been a regular at right-back since he joined the club in 2019 but might have some competition now following Diogo Dalot’s impressive performances in recent weeks. Shaw might find himself in a similar situation, with Alex Telles being brilliant recently.
On the other hand, Cavani has not featured much this season, due to injury problems as well as the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, but it is safe to say that on top form, the Uruguayan still has a lot to offer.
