Agent clarifies Erling Haaland situation amid Manchester United links
Manchester United already had the likes of Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood in their ranks when they signed superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho in the last summer transfer window, making their forward department one of the strongest in the Premier League and maybe even in all of Europe.
With that much depth, it is not a surprise that some of them have not featured a lot this season. And lack of regular playing time for the players has lead to speculation regarding their futures.
If some of the recent rumours surrounding Manchester United are to be believed, the futures of Martial and Cavani are up in the air, with both players being linked with exits.
Martial is believed to be looking for an exit in January in search of regular playing time while Cavani has been linked with a possible move to Barcelona. Thus, the club might need to look for more forwards soon. And one player that almost every top European club is believed to be interested in right now is Erling Haaland.
Mino Raiola clarifies Erling Haaland situation amid Manchester United links
One of the most highly sought-after forwards in world football right now, Haaland has been linked with a move to Manchester United several times over the last few years. His agent, Mino Raiola, was recently asked about the player’s future. Speaking to Sport1, he said:
"“He can and will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City – these are the big clubs he can go to. City has won the championship five times in recent years, significantly more than United.”"
Raiola would go on to clarify his comments the next day though as he tweeted out:
It is believed that a release clause will become active in Haaland’s contract with Borussia Dortmund next summer and thus, many expect him to leave the club then.
Of course, Raiola’s comments do not make for good reading for Manchester United when it comes to their chances of signing the Norwegian superstar but as we know, anything can happen in football. If Haaland does leave Borussia Dortmund next summer, the Red Devils are expected to be in the transfer race.
