There were a lot of doubts raised when Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. But as he has done so many times through the course of his legendary career, the Portuguese superstar is proving his doubters wrong. He has been absolutely brilliant ever since returning to Old Trafford, finding the back of the net consistently in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Just in the recent game against Norwich City, he both won the penalty and then scored it to hand Manchester United a 1-0 win and all three points.
Surprisingly though, he is already being linked with an Old Trafford exit despite his superb form, as another of his former clubs could be looking to bring him back.
As reported by Football Insider, Real Madrid are plotting a sensational reunion with Ronaldo. The Spanish giants are believed to be monitoring his situation going into January and could make a move if given encouragement.
Real Madrid rumoured to be monitoring Ronaldo’s Manchester United situation
A lot of questions were raised about the future of Ronaldo at Manchester United following the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager.
The German coach has not been known for playing players like Ronaldo in his sides through the years and to be honest, the Portuguese superstar does not look like the perfect fit in his intense, pressing style of football.
But till now, there has not been any indication that Rangnick could be looking to drop Ronaldo. On the contrary, he has started him in both the previous Premier League games, with the Portuguese legend proving to be the difference against Norwich City.
And if he can continue to win his side games, as he has done so many times over the years, there is no reason that Rangnick would not play him. Thus, any potential move to Real Madrid seems very unlikely even if they were interested.
