Ralf Rangnick comments on Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future
The Manchester United future of Paul Pogba has been a topic of discussion for a long time. The Frenchman has been linked with an Old Trafford exit for a long time and his current deal with the club runs out next summer. Thus, it is very possible that he could leave as a free agent and if he decided to do that, he would not be expected to have any lack of suitors. Clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Juventus and others are rumoured to be interested.
On top of his game, Pogba is considered as one of the best midfielders in world football. But one could argue that he has never been able to show his best in a Manchester United shirt on a consistent basis.
Even then, the club must be hoping that he does not leave, especially on a free transfer. But at this point of time, a contract extension does not seem close either.
The club’s interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, was recently asked about the situation. And as reported by The Guardian, he said:
"“If a player does not want to play Manchester United in the medium or long term, I don’t think it makes sense to convince him to change his mind.“But let’s wait and see, I have spoken with him [Pogba] for 15 minutes over the phone a few days ago [Tuesday]. Let’s have him come back, get fit, train with the team and see where we stand, how the team has developed by then.”"

While the comments do not give a lot away, they are not very positive either, when it comes to Pogba potentially remaining at the club beyond this season.
The fact of the matter is that on top of his game, Pogba is a regular starter for almost every club in world football. The problem with him at Manchester United has been his consistency.
Even this season, he started in brilliant fashion and provided four assists in the opening game of the Premier League against Leeds United. But since then, his form has appeared to fade away quite a bit and he even found himself on the bench often before picking up an injury, which he is recovering from right now.
