Transfer rumours always surround clubs like Manchester United and the latest one links them with Atletico Madrid’s €126 million star. Now, Joao Felix was always considered as a huge talent while coming through the youth ranks and made a brilliant start at Benfica. But not many would have expected the Spanish giants to shell out that kind of a transfer fee to sign the Portuguese star in 2019, back when he was still a teenager.

Felix has not been able to make the kind of impact that most people would have expected though after a move of that magnitude.

In fact, he has never been able to match the numbers that he put up for Benfica in the 2018/19 campaign, as Atletico Madrid has never looked like the right fit for him.

Thus, it should not come as a huge surprise that he is being linked with a move away from the club. And as reported by AS, four English teams have asked about Felix. They are Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Manchester United have asked about Atletico Madrid’s Felix

The talent has never been in question with Felix. In fact, he was considered as one of the best players of his generation while coming through the ranks and appeared to back up the hype with his performances for Benfica. Thus, it is not hard to see why Manchester United might be interested.

It has not quite worked out for him since moving to Atletico Madrid though. While he has shown flashes of brilliance, he has not matched the expectations that surrounded him while arriving at the club as their record signing.

Thus, a move away might not be a bad idea at this point of time. At 22 years of age, Felix still has a lot of time on his side to turn things around for himself.
