Ralf Rangnick has arrived at Manchester United with a lot of expectations. The German is one of the most influential managers of his generation, who shaped the Gegenpressing style of football and also popularised zonal marking. He has influenced several of the top managers in the world at this point of time. And thus, there are big hopes that he can turn the Red Devils’ season around after a disappointing start.

Manchester United’s first performance with Rangnick in charge was a very encouraging one. While the 1-0 scoreline might not suggest so, it was a dominant display from the Red Devils and the signs look bright for the future.

He is the interim manager till the end of the season though and thus one would not expect the club to make huge changes during his time at the club.

Rangnick appears to have made his first move already though. As reported by the Mirror, he is bringing Chris Armas as a coach and it looks like he has already had his work permit approved and will be officially announced in a couple of days.

Rangnick has made his first Manchester United move

This is a very important move on the part of Manchester United especially following the sudden exit of Michal Carrick earlier.

Carrick had a very impressive spell as the caretaker manager of Manchester United. And the expectation was that he would be kept on as a coach when Rangnick took over as the interim manager role.

But Carrick decided the time was right to make a change. He had been a coach at Manchester United since Jose Mourinho was the manager of the club.

Armas is an experienced coach in his own right and has even been the head coach at MLS clubs before this. Thus, this could prove to be a solid addition for Manchester United.
