Cristiano Ronaldo was welcomed back to Manchester United in the summer. At one point of time, it had looked like he was set to do the unthinkable and join Manchester City, but that didn’t materialise and instead, he sealed a return to the Theatre of Dreams. While the Portuguese superstar has already proven himself to still be one of the best goalscorers in the game, things have not gone the Red Devils’ way as a whole.
Manchester United have struggled at the start of the campaign and find themselves sitting at 7th in the Premier League table at this point of time, while already being out of the League Cup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been shown the exit door as a result and Ralf Rangnick has been made the interim manager till the end of the season. It is safe to say that the situation is not ideal.
And as reported by El Nacional, Jorge Mendes has already contacted Paris Saint-Germain to offer them the chance to join Lionel Messi and Ronaldo to make up for the likely departure of Kylian Mbappe next summer.
Could Ronaldo already be thinking about Manchester United exit?
There are a couple of reasons why Ronaldo might consider leaving Manchester United in the future. The first of course are there performances and it is very possible that they might fail to finish in the Champions League spots this time around, with the top four race heating up. The Portuguese legend will turn 37 a few months later and must be keen to play in Europe’s elite competition in the twilight years of his career.
On the other hand, there are questions about Ronaldo’s place in the starting XI as well, following Rangnick’s arrival.
For now though, it is too early to tell what the future holds and the picture will surely become much more clearer by the end of the season.
