Manchester United needed to make a change after their disappointing start to the season. And they have made that change by showing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the exit door, after almost three years in charge, and bringing in Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager until the end of the season, after which he will take a consultancy role. It is safe to say that that is a brave move on the part of the club.

Rangnick’s sides are known for playing a high pressing, all-action style of football. Is that the right fit for this current Manchester United squad?

That is certainly up for debate and only time will give the answer to that question. It must be said though that Manchester United’s style of play is expected to undergo a bit of a transformation over the coming months.

And there are certainly some players in this squad who could thrive playing Rangnick’s style of football.

Fred has had a lot of critics during his time at Manchester United. And to be honest, he is a very unpredictable player, who has not been able to find consistency.

But recently, he has been showing flashes of brilliance and proving why he has an important role to play in this team.

He was absolutely brilliant against Chelsea last weekend. And while he did make a mistake against Arsenal, it is safe to say that he more than made up for it and ultimately played a big role in their 3-2 win against the Gunners.

Rangnick will need a midfielder to play in his role. Now, it remains to be seen if the German manager can get the best out of the Brazilian midfielder.
