Manchester United have failed to provide a number of players in their senior squad with enough playing time in the 2021/22 season. Despite not making a good start in the Premier League this season, the management has somewhat stuck with almost the same players every week as far as the team’s starting XI is concerned. Consequently, there are several who are thought to be considering their options in the upcoming January transfer window.

While the futures of players such as Donny van de Beek, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard are still up in the air, an injury to Luke Shaw has resulted in Alex Telles receiving some solid playing time recently.

Signed from FC Porto in the summer of 2020, the left-back has hardly played regular football for Manchester United, mostly due to the incredible form of Shaw, who has been the club’s preferred choice on the left-side of their defence in recent times.

That being said, Telles continues to draw interest from clubs across Europe. As reported by The Sun Inter Milan and AC Milan are both tracking the left-back’s situation at Manchester United.

It is believed that the Milan giants were looking at a loan deal for Telles in January, but any such proposals are likely to be rejected by Manchester United. Instead, a move in the next summer transfer window could be more likely, when a transfer fee could be involved.

Having started the season on the sidelines with an injury, Telles has come into the starting XI recently in the absence of Shaw and done a brilliant job. His performances against Chelsea and Arsenal were praiseworthy.

As things stand, Telles’ current deal with Manchester United has several years left on it. Therefore, the Red Devils should not be in any hurry to make a transfer happen if they do not want to.
