Ralf Rangnick wants Manchester United to sign RB Leipzig superstar

Manchester United are entering a new era. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spent almost three years in the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford but the club decided to part ways with him following their disappointing start to the 2021/22 season. The club were expected to challenge for the Premier League title after signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane over the summer but instead, it looks like they could struggle to get a top four spot.

Of course, things can change very quickly in football and Manchester United will be hoping that that comes true when Ralf Rangnick arrives as the interim manager of the club.

The announcement has been already made and the German will be in the Old Trafford hot seat for the rest of the season before taking a consultancy role at the club for two years. And it looks like he has already started to identify potential transfer targets.

As tweeted out by Christian Falk, RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku is on Rangnick’s list for Manchester United.

It is safe to say that Nkunku has emerged as an absolute superstar for RB Leipzig this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in 20 appearances this season.

Those are incredible stats for any player as it looks like Nkunku has taken his game to the next level. And it is not just in the Bundesliga that he is shining.

In fact, he has been even better in the Champions League this season and is averaging more than a goal a game right now despite being in most probably the toughest group of this campaign.

Nkunku already has a hattrick against Manchester City to his name and even scored against Paris Saint-Germain. And thus, it is not hard to see why Manchester United might be interested in his signature.
