Manchester United did a tremendous job of keeping the core of their squad together while also making several top signings like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Things might not be the same in the upcoming transfer windows though with quite a few players not getting considerable game time while a few of their contracts are coming to an end in the near future as well.

It is safe to say that Manchester United have not quite been able to meet expectations in recent years, having not won a trophy over the past four seasons.

The same thing can be said about Barcelona as well, who find themselves in the middle of a major rebuild. Lionel Messi departed the club over the summer and then they had to part ways with Ronald Koeman after a disappointing start to the season. Now, Xavi finds himself in the managerial hot seat of the club where he became a legend.

And it looks like the club have their eyes on a couple of Manchester United players. As reported by SPORT, Barcelona have asked the Red Devils about Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial.

Both Cavani and Martial have been linked with Old Trafford exits in recent times. And as a result, it will be interesting to see what the club decides to do about their future.

Cavani had a great 2020/21 campaign but has found opportunities hard to come by since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. And the Uruguayan’s injury problems have not helped him either. His current deal runs out next summer.

On the other hand, Martial has struggled in recent times after a brilliant 2019/20 campaign. The Frenchman was expected to develop into one of the best players in the world when Manchester United signed him but it is safe to say that he has not managed to fulfil his incredible potential till now.
