Coming into the game, most Manchester United fans might have feared that the club had very little hope against Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge. After all, the previous results against Manchester City and Liverpool were not cause for much hope. But the Red Devils did manage to get a 1-1 draw against the Premier League leaders, which must be considered a great result for them at this point of time.

After playing on the back foot all game, they managed to surprisingly take the lead when Jorginho’s mistake left Jadon Sancho one-on-one with Edouard Mendy for almost the entire Chelsea half.

Ultimately, Chelsea would get back level after Aaron Wan-Bissaka brought down Thiago Silva in the box.

Jorginho made it 1-1 from the penalty spot but the Blues could not find another one, as Michael Carrick’s side held on to a point away at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Manchester United: 3 things we learned

Here are three things we learned as Manchester United did brilliantly to get a 1-1 draw against Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge:

Manchester United must be satisfied but still a long way away

After their recent performances against Liverpool and Manchester City, Manchester United must be delighted with getting a draw out of this one. And ultimately, it was one point won instead of two lost.

But the statistics do not make for great reading for the club. And the chances that they did get were from Chelsea’s mistakes, who did not look anywhere near their best in this game, which is not very surprising considering the several key injuries they have right now.

Thus, while the draw is a satisfactory result for the Red Devils as they look to steady the ship and get back on track, it does show that there is still a long way to go for this side if they are to challenge for the Premier League title.
