Manchester United and Chelsea find themselves in very different situations right now. Thomas Tuchel’s side are at the top of the Premier League table while the Red Devils sit at eighth. And it looks like they are soon going to be have an interim manager in the form of Ralf Rangnick following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure after the 4-1 defeat against Watford last weekend.

The game against Chelsea might be too early for the club to bring in an interim manager and as a result, Michael Carrick is expected to be the man in the dug out for Manchester United when they travel to Stamford Bridge.

But despite the difference in the situation of the two clubs, Manchester United will have reason to be confident going into the game. They enjoyed a solid win in midweek when they faced Villarreal away in Spain in the Champions League. With the 2-0 win, the Red Devils also booked their place in the knockout stage of this season’s competition.

On the other hand, Chelsea have quite a few big injury worries coming into this game. One of them is surrounding Ben Chilwell, who has been in superb form lately, but could possibly miss the rest of the season after picking up a serious injury against Juventus.

Once again, David de Gea is expected to be the man between the posts for Manchester United and his confidence should be high after keeping a clean sheet in midweek, something that has been rare for the Red Devils this season.

Individually, De Gea has been nothing short of superb this season and could play a big part against Chelsea.
